ALBANY — Police, Fire and EMS responded to the collision of a small passenger vehicle with a city of Albany bus on Tuesday, which sent one person to the hospital.
Officials say that around 11:15 a.m., Precious Anglin, 39, was traveling east on Pine Avenue in a 2009 Lincoln MKZ when she ran a red light at the intersection of North Davis Street.
As Anglin entered the intersection, an Albany Transit bus with no passengers, driven by Arelious Haynes, 39, was entering the intersection headed north on Davis Street and the two vehicles collided, officials say.
The Lincoln sustained serious damage, especially to the front section of the vehicle, and Anglin was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for observation, officials say. The transit bus received significant damage, including some damage to the body, a shattered front windshield and damage to one or more batteries, which caused acid to leak onto the roadway.
A police spokeswoman said Anglin was cited for running a red light.
