Area woman celebrates 100th birthday

Marie Rose Kalassian celebrated her 100th birthday at Doublegate Country Club on May 1. Born in Boston, Mass., in 1914, Kalassian was a clothing buyer for several department stores in the Boston area. She had four children ioncluding Joseph Boncorddo, Barbara Boncorddo (deceased), Richard Boncorddo (deceased) and Kenneth Kalassian. She moved to Albany in March to be with her son, Kenneth, who joined Phoebe Putney Health System in February 2014 as Medical Director of Critical Care Services.
