MEDICAL

J. Edward Vance, Jr., M.D., has been named to the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Board of Directors.

Vance, originally from Atlanta, received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 2000. He subsequently completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2003. Following the completion of his training, he joined Albany Area Primary Healthcare, Inc. as a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician. Currently, Vance is the Clinic Director for Lee Medical Arts Center in Leesburg, a division of Albany Area Primary Health Care, Inc.

In addition to his clinic practice, Vance also currently serves on the Medical Executive Committee of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as the secretary/treasurer. Prior to that office, he served as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Additionally, Vance has served on the Lee County Board of Health for the past several years.

Vance enjoys running with Albany Run-Walk. Since 2005, he has run the Chicago Marathon, the Marine Corps Marathon, and the Albany Marathon along with many half-marathons.

Dr. Vance is married to Aditi Vance.

Randolph B. Jones, Jr. has been named to the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Board of Directors in Americus.

Following his military service as a captain in the U.S. Air Force, Jones began his business career as the director of corporate institutional foods sales and the director of corporate quality assurance and corporate accident prevention at Sunnyland Foods, Inc. Jones then returned to school, graduating from Florida State University School of Law cum laude, and was admitted to Georgia Bar.

He then began a private law practice in Americus. He was also admitted to Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, U.S. District Courts and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In 1994, Jones was named president and chief executive officer of Sumter Bank and Trust and he served that position for 15 years.

Jones has served on and chaired numerous boards and committees over the years, including the South Georgia Technical College Foundation Board, the Phoebe Sumter Hospital Foundation Board, the Georgia Southwestern State University Foundation Board, the Americus Sumter County Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Andersonville.

Jones and his wife, Nancy, have three daughters and a son and five grandchildren.

RETAIL

Chris Graddy has been promoted to branch manager of the Tifton store by Short & Paulk Supply Company.

Graddy has been with the company for 10 years. He previously was assistant manager of the Sylvester store.. Originally from Shingler, Graddy and his wife have a daughter, Marlie.

Short & Paulk has stores in Albany, Sylvester, Tifton and Dawson.
