Don Laye has been appointed Dean of Evening Operations at Albany Technical College.
Previously the Chair of the Fire Sciences Technology program at Albany Tech, Laye assumed his new duties Thursday.
Retiring as the City of Dawson Fire Chief in 2006 after 26 years of service, Laye has been employed by Albany Tech as the Department Chair/Instructor of the Fire Science Technology program for the past nine years. Laye received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Georgia Southwestern State University and his master’s degree in Public Administration from Albany State University. He is an accrediting agent and test proctor for firefighter testing with National Professional Qualifications, Pro-Board Certification, Quincy, Massachusetts.
