COMMERCE — The Georgia Department of Transportation and construction partners will implement daytime lane closures along Interstate 85 north and southbound in Jackson County. Following recent inspections of the bridges and roadway, crews will continue asphalt repairs within the project limits.

Right lane closures will be in place the following times and locations:

Tuesday — 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. I-85 northbound at mile marker 140.2 to MM 140.9

Tuesday — 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. I-85 southbound at MM 141 to MM 140.3

Wednesday — 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. I-85 northbound at MM 146.2 to MM 146.9

Wednesday, 1-4 p.m. I-85 southbound at MM 146.9 to MM 146.2.

Recent weather conditions have prevented contractors from completing night paving operations. Temporary daytime closures will allow crews to perform needed maintenance.
