DCPD seeks help with open cases

ALBANY, Ga. — The Dougherty County Police Department is soliciting assistance with the investigation of two incidents from earlier this month: an armed robbery and a case of counterfeit checks.

The armed robbery took place at 3000 Sylvester Road, the site of Fast Lane Food Mart, at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, police officials say.

Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick, a detective with the department, said two black males entered the establishment with their faces covered. One man was armed with a gun and the other a stick.

The pair demanded money from the clerk, and then went after the safe. In all, they took $1,100, Kirkpatrick said.

One of the men is 5 feet 7 inches tall, while the other is 6 feet tall, Kirkpatrick said. Graffiti found at the scene showed a drawing in the dirt of a pitchfork and the number
