ALBANY — A fifth Dougherty County resident has died from the Jan. 22 tornado that damaged much of the south and east parts of Albany and the county.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler said tonight that Patricia Ann Gohman, 77, of the 400 block of Holly Drive, died this evening.

Gohman had been hospitalized with injuries she suffered in the Sunday tornado.

Previously reported deaths in Albany/Dougherty County are:

— James Mosley, 59, and his wife, Cathy Mosley, 59, of Paradise Village Mobile Home Park;

— Oscar Reyna, 39, also of Paradise Village Mobile Home Park;

— Paul Freeman, 82, of Newcomb Road,

Gohman’s death brings to 16 the number of people in Southwest and South Central Georgia who have died because of the tornadoes and high winds that ripped through the region Saturday and Sunday.
