Georgia high school graduation rate tops 80 percent

Gov. Sonny Perdue announced Tuesday morning that Georgia’s graduation rate has surpassed 80 percent.
The state’s rate was at 63 percent eight years ago and now is at 80.8 percent, Perdue said.
The 2010 graduation rates for metro Albany schools are as follows:
Albany High – 66.7%, Dougherty Comprehensive – 76.5%, Monroe – 78.9%, Westover – 86.7%, Lee County – 74.8%, Baker County – 76.5%, Terrell County – 82%, and Worth County – 72.7%.
