DAWSON — Staying connected with Terrell County news is now easier than ever as The Dawson News expands its digital presence through The Albany Herald’s online platform and launches a dedicated Dawson News Facebook page.

The expanded digital presence is designed to make local journalism more accessible whether readers prefer to read stories on a computer, smartphone or through social media.

The launch reflects changing news consumption habits across the country. According to the Pew Research Center, nearly seven in 10 readers who access their local newspaper now do so primarily through digital platforms, while more than half of U.S. adults say they get news from social media at least sometimes. At the same time, most Americans continue to say local news organizations are important to the health of their communities.

For Terrell County residents, the expanded online presence provides easier access to coverage of local government, schools, economic development, business, public safety, community events and the people shaping life across Dawson and the surrounding area.
