KIRSTEN LUPINSKI: Spring brings some tasty fruits and veggies

As promised last month, I am going to give you all some fresh, healthy and, of course, yummy recipes that center on spring time fruits and veggies.
I know that I have written in the past and told you one of my family’s favorite ways to enjoy fresh fruits are as a smoothie, but it won’t hurt to mention this again and give you all a few ways to whip these up. As you all know, I have younger kids and this recipe is perfect for them to help with — not the cutting and chopping, but putting everything in the blender or food processor and whipping it all together. Not to mention the assistance they can provide choosing what fruits and/or veggies to include.
This will not only give them a task and let them help out, but also allow them the opportunity to decide what they want to make. Which, we hope, leads to them at least tasting what they made and hopefully liking it enough to drink all those good-for-you fruits and veggies.
