Lee County Middle School assistant principal dies in apparent swimming pool incident

ALBANY — Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler has confirmed Lee County Middle School West Assistant Principal Kim Robinson died in an apparent drowning in a swimming pool late Saturday night.

Fowler said that Robinson, 33, was found found floating in a private swimming pool on the 1700 block of River Pointe Drive and attempts at CPR were unsuccessful.

According to a report from the Dougherty County Police Department, the victim’s brother called and said “his sister had drowned in the swimming pool.”

DCPD officers arrived at the scene at 11:12 p.m. The report states that “futher investigation is due to the suspicious nature of the death.”

Fowler said Robinson’s body was transported the the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Lab in Moultrie where an autopsy will be performed.

The DCPD said the case remains under investigation.
