DID YOU KNOW?

February’s full moon is known as the Snow Moon because it’s the month when there is most likely to be snow. Other nicknames include the Hunger Moon and the Bone Moon for the same reason — finding food was difficult in the cold and snow for Native Americans, so hunger was an issue that was sometimes resolved by gnawing bone or making soup from bone marrow.
