ALBANY — The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the annual Small Business Week next week with multiple events scheduled through Thursday geared toward small business owners.
Small Business Week will kick off on Monday with the Women in Business Luncheon from 11:30 a.m-1 p.m at The Bread House on 520 N. Jefferson St. It is the chamber’s second annual Women in Business Luncheon and was highly successful last year, Barbara Rivera Holmes, president and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, said.
The luncheon provides a forum for women in positions of leadership in small business to grow, discuss ideas and to network with each other. The cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
The Small Business Awards Reception will take place on Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m at the Doublegate Country Club, where the Small Business of the Year and the Non Profit of the Year will be announced.
“This is a way we (the chamber) can recognize small businesses and non profits for doing amazing things within our community,” Holmes said on the Small Business Awards.

The lunch and learn will cost $10 at the door. Chamber members will receive a complementary lunch, and registration is required to reserve a seat and meal.
