ALBANY — Police are searching for Frank Paris Jr., 48, after they said he nearly caused an auto crash while fleeing from officers in a shoplifting incident at the Albany Mall on Tuesday.

Paris faces warrants for felony shoplifting, obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers and reckless driving, Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said Friday.

Banks said Paris was last seen attempting to steal Levis jeans with a value of just under $1,200 from Dillard’s on Tuesday.

“While fleeing from police, he nearly caused a motor vehicle crash,” Banks said. “He was last seen driving a black 2012 Chevrolet Cruze 4-door sedan with a Georgia license plate of RFW9138. His current address is unknown but the vehicle and driver’s license have an address in Augusta, Georgia.”

If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Paris is asked to contact Investigator Greg Gadt at (229) 431-2100 ext. 3705 or Crime-Stoppers at (229)-436-TIPS.
