ALBANY — The Albany Police Department is investigating an armed robbery reported late Wednesday night.
Officers were dispatched to 2401 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at 11:33 p.m. Wednesday in response to an armed robbery. Contact was made with the victim, who told police he was walking from R&M Grocery when he was robbed at gunpoint by two men, an APD report said.
The report says the victim was approached by two black men, one wearing a camouflage jacket and red and black basketball shorts, and the other wearing a camouflage coat, black jeans, black ski mask and holding two guns. The two suspects ran up to the victim, according to the report, said something to the victim that was redacted from the report, and the victim gave up clothing and jewelry before the two men ran off toward Watkins Avenue.
The victim said he recognized the men from around the area and through mutual friends, and that they looked to be 17 to 18 years of age. He was left wearing shorts and socks and did not have any injuries as a result of the robbery, the report said.
No arrests had been made in the case by Thursday afternoon, an APD spokesperson said.
