ALBANY — Albany Police Department officers responded to a bomb threat, burglaries and car thefts in central and west Albany last week.
Central Albany
According to a report provided by APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks, a burglary alarm went off on the 900 block of West Third Avenue Thursday between noon-12:11 p.m. When officers arrived, they found that an unknown person had broken into the residence through the back door and stolen coins.
At 1:41 p.m. on Thursday, officers also responded to a bomb threat on the 400 block of West Roosevelt Avenue. James Marshall reported to police he’d received an email claiming to be from Hanna Cooper and that she hired someone to place a bomb inside the business. The email also said the bomb would detonate if Cooper didn’t receive $20,000 in Bitcoins. Banks said a police lieutenant canvassed the building with a bomb dog and reported negative results.
