Albany police still investigating Saturday afternoon shooting

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department is investigating the circumstances of a shooting that took place Saturday afternoon.

Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said Sunday morning that 21-year old John Lewis Jr., was the victim of gunshot wound around 1:37 p.m. at Dervan Street and South Jackson Street.

Lewis was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after the incident where he was listed in critical condition Sunday.

Banks said the APD Robbery and Homicide and Crime Scene units are conducting an investigation into the shooting and no arrests have been made.
