AMERICUS — A recent annual audit of the Americus-Sumter County Boys and Girls Clubs revealed exceptional performance scores for the fourth consecutive year.
Dawn Amaker, director of program operations for the Georgia State Alliance, made a recent site visit to the Furlow Charter School BGC chapter. Addition site visits were conducted by Dionna Smith of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services to the Bill Harris Sr. and the Furlow Charter School sites.
“Amaker and Smith were very impressed with the site visits at both the Bill Harris Sr. Boys and Girls Club and the Furlow Charter School Boys and Girls Club,” Jimmy Green, director of operations for the Americus-Sumter clubs, said.
Green also said that all of the clubs have very good summer and after-school programs.
Audit scores released reveal that in the year 2014, the Bill Harris Sr. chapter scored 100; in 2015 the Macon County Boys and Girls Club had a score of 99.9; in 2016 the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Boys and Girls Club had a score of 99.9, and in the year 2017, the Furlow Charter School Boys and Girls Club had a score of 99.0.
