ALBANY — An armed robbery suspect that Albany Police Department officers had been looking was behind bars Monday.

Albany Police investigators posted a lookout for Demetrius Marquez Davis, 19, on charges of armed robbery and entering auto, both stemming from an incident that took place on the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue at 8:20 p.m. on Nov 24.

Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, said Davis is accused of using a rifle to rob Kayla Daniels of her cell phone, which she had intended to sell to Davis. He also is accused of going through Daniels’ vehicle and stealing cash and two laptop computers.

The lookout on Davis was issued in late December.

The last known address for Davis was on Yorktown Avenue. The Dougherty County Jail records showed him to be unbondable Monday.

Jail officials said Davis turned himself in just after 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Anyone with information on crimes in the area and who want to remain anonymous can call Albany Area Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477). Those who use it can become eligible for cash rewards.
