ASU to host high school math tourney

18 area, regional high schools expected to compete

ALBANY — As many as 200 area high school students will test their math skills Friday in the Albany State University Department of Mathematics and Computer Science regional mathematics tournament. Competition categories include algebra, geometry, pre-calculus (trigonometry), statistics and calculus.

The tournament, which will feature 18 local and regional high school teams, kicks off at 8 a.m. at the Billy C. Black Building Auditorium at 504 College Drive on the university’s East Campus.

Scheduled Sessions

— 9 a.m. General Assembly

— 10 a.m. Written Examination

— 1 p.m. Ciphering Match

— 2:30 p.m. Awards and Closing

Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m., during the awards and closing ceremony.
