Attorney Ken Nugent contributes to ‘community feeding’
‘Care Beyond the Walls’ supplies food to residents impacted by hurricane
From Staff Reports
ALBANY — When attorney Ken Nugent got the call about the devastation in Albany brought by Hurricane Michael, he was concerned about the residents and employees in his south Georgia office and the surrounding areas.
So he teamed up with St. James Baptist Church pastor Lawrence Knighton to sponsor the Lofton BBQ food truck for Wednesday’s event Care Beyond the Walls Community Feeding.
“When we did the feeding the other day at the church, we had people coming from Albany, Camilla, Baconton and other surrounding towns,” Knighton said, noting that the greatest need in the community is food. “St. James has always played a significant role in this community. We have always believed in Care Beyond the Walls, and by partnering with Ken Nugent’s law firm, this community feeding is just another way for St. James to do ministry and meet the needs of the people.”
Staff members from Nugent’s Albany office will be on hand Wednesday to assist with the Care Beyond Walls Community Feeding. Nugent plans to visit Albany on Oct. 25 to assist with another event, Manna After Michael, which he is sponsoring along with the Lions Club of Albany.
“Each of my law offices is like a family to me, and I always put family first,” Nugent explained. “When I heard about the devastation left by Hurricane Michael, I knew I had to help not just my employees in my Albany office, but everyone in the surrounding areas touched by the tragedy.”
Ken Nugent is a native of Long Island, N.Y., who made his way south to Atlanta in 1980 after getting his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York, Albany, to attend the prestigious Emory University School of Law in Atlanta. After graduating, he created one of the Southeast’s largest law firms devoted entirely to representing injury victims and their families.
Kenneth S. Nugent P.C. grew from its original office in Atlanta to now having eight offices scattered across the state in Albany, Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Duluth, Macon, Savannah and Valdosta with 200 employees and 30 lawyers.
