ATLANTA — Dougherty County Commissioner Clinton Johnson was recently sworn in to serve as second vice president on the 2023-2024 Association County Commissioners of Georgia Board of Managers.

“Elected by their peers each spring, the ACCG Board of Managers is a group of dynamic leaders that serves as decision-makers on behalf of our organization,” ACCG Executive Director Dave Wills. “I would like to congratulate our newly installed board and look forward to working alongside them to continue the work of advancing Georgia’s counties.”

As ACCG second vice president and member of the Executive Committee, Johnson will work alongside other board members to lead the association and guide policies over the next year.

He will also serve as board liaison for the ACCG Lifelong Learning Academy, the association’s continuing education program for county officials. The ACCG Board of Managers will continue to work on initiatives that focus on increasing county efficiencies, enhancing continuing education offerings and fostering strong relationships between counties, the state and federal government.

“I am thrilled to continue my service on the leadership team of ACCG, a prominent organization committed to cultivating the next generation of leaders in Georgia,” Johnson, who represents District 3 on the Dougherty County Commission, said. “As our state continues to expand and retain its position as the premier state in the nation for living, working and embracing a variety of opportunities, I am confident that my role as second vice president will further our ongoing advancements in growth, inclusion, diversity and prosperity.

I, too, echo the famed words of fellow native Albanian and renowned Georgian Ray Charles, who said, ‘Georgia, just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind.’ We will continue to advance the counties of Georgia.”
