Department Juvenile Justice plans job fairs, including in Albany
Eleven jobs fairs planned by department this month
From Staff Reports
ATLANTA — Recruiters from the Department of Juvenile Justice are conducting a month-long candidate search in 11 Georgia communities during October to fill professional positions for teachers, registered nurses and juvenile corrections officers.
Agency representatives will be active at career fairs across the state. DJJ recruiters will be in Albany, Atlanta, Augusta, Dahlonega, Dalton, Dublin, Hazlehurst, Lovejoy, Moody AFB, Savannah and Tucker. The agency is offering employment opportunities at secure facilities throughout Georgia’s juvenile justice system.
The Albany event is set for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Kirkland Center at Albany Technical College and is open to the general public. In Valdosta that day, a job fair for military only is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta.
“We want candidates who are looking for ‘the’ place to make their work count,” DJJ Commissioner Avery D. Niles said. “We want motivated applicants who can commit to helping young offenders from our communities overcome their troubled life transitions while in our custody.
“We’re hiring jobseekers with a personal drive to become part of a dedicated team of juvenile justice professionals. In addition, DJJ is always looking for mature, responsible adult candidates and applicants with prior experience in corrections, the military or law enforcement.”
