DAWSON — Officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation are continuing to investigate an armed bank robbery that occurred in Dawson last week.
FBI officials said Monday that Special Agent in Charge David J. LeValley, from the FBI’s Atlanta office, in conjunction with Dawson Police Department Chief Charles C. Whitehead Jr., is requesting information regarding an armed bank robbery that occurred in Dawson on July 3.
Officials said that, at 9:30 a.m. on July 3, a man wearing an orange construction-style reflective vest entered the OneSouth Bank, located at 917 Forrester Drive Southeast, and announced a robbery while displaying a weapon.
The robber obtained an undisclosed amount of money and departed the bank without further incident, the FBI said.
The FBI described the robber as a black man about early- to mid-30s in age, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 in height, wearing an orange reflective vest, sunglasses, a fake beard and long dread-style hair.
