ALBANY — The Flint River Habitat for Humanity is hoping for a boost from its 5th annual Hammer Jam fundraiser concert Saturday at Merry Acres located at 1500 Dawson Road in Albany.

Over the last few years, the event has become a tradition helping to raise awareness, support and money for the Habitat’s veterans program.

“This is the fifth year that we have done this and it is a really great event,” said Habitat Director Scooter Courtney. “We have got some great music lined up and, as of Saturday, we have sold right at 450 tickets, which we are very excited about.”

The concert was set to kick off at 6 p.m. in the courtyard of the Merry Acres’ Manor House and feature Jodi Mann, The Bo Henry Band and local favorite The Kinchafoonee Cowboys.

The Cowboys originally garnered local and regional acclaim with their song “Eggs, Toast, Grits and Bacon” and continue to entertain fans with their brand of country music and exciting live shows. Some of their latest releases include “Take A Ride in the Country” and “We Came Here to Honky Tonk.”

“All proceeds are going to finish the house in Lee County,” Courtney said. “With ticket sales and live/silent auction items our goal is to raise $25,000.”
