Fishing trip giveaway from Georgia DNR offers a ‘reel’ good time
Those who apply for fishing licenses through July 31 are being entered to win a Georgia fishing trip

ALBANY — Anglers who purchase a sportsman’s license through July 31 are being entered to win one of two guided fishing trips including gear and accommodations from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
The winning license holder will get to choose his or her own Georgia fishing destination from a variety of options based on the desired catch which include:
— Trout: gear, guide and accommodations;
— Bass: gear, accommodations and a guide with a boat on a reservoir of the winner’s choice;
— Striper: gear, accommodations and a guide with a boat on the river or reservoir of the winner’s choice;
— Walleye: gear, accommodations and a guide with a boat on the North Georgia reservoir of the winner’s choice;
— Tarpon: gear, accommodations and a guide with a boat for saltwater fishing.
The giveaway is available to anyone who creates a new customer account and purchases any license including those for fishing, a one-day combo, hunting or lands pass. A winner will be picked for the month of June and a second winner will be picked for July. Winners will be announced via the Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Division social media channels and contacted directly.
A way to enter in the giveaway for people who are not already qualified is by purchasing a youth sportsman’s license and starting a new account for children ages 12-15 for $15, which gives the youth sportsman license privileges until he or she turns 17.
“There is no shortage of great outdoor resources to visit in Georgia,” Rusty Garrison, director for the Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Division, said. “From our amazing North Georgia mountains with cold trout streams, to middle Georgia’s mighty rivers, to the coast with saltwater species waiting on you to throw out a line, you are sure to only better enhance your outdoor experience by adding in a fishing license.”
