Georgia Bureau of Investigation called in on Ocilla death investigation

OCILLA — The Ocilla Police Department requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday in order to conduct a death investigation, officials with the GBI said.

The OPD received a call at approximately 3:20 a.m. in reference to a deceased man on the 700 block of East Fifth Street in Ocilla. When officers arrived, they found the deceased, identified as 31-year-old Vincent Sharod Wells, in the residence.

Officials with the GBI said Wells’ body is being transported to the agency’s medical examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
