Groundbreaking set for new Cook Medical Center
New Cook Medical Center to be located at 260 MJ Taylor Road

ADEL — Officials with Tift Regional Health System have announced that ground will be broken today on the replacement facility for Cook Medical Center in Adel, a year after its anticipated construction was made public.
The Cook County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously in March of last year to approve a memorandum of understanding providing $9.2 million in financial support for a new $35 million Cook Medical Center facility. The culmination of that memorandum will take place at noon today when ground is broken at 260 MJ Taylor Road in Adel.
The city of Adel was to provide $2 million in funding for the project, while the Hospital Authority of Tift County is expected to provide the rest of the funding.
