VALDOSTA — Wild Adventures Theme Park is celebrating the Fourth of July weekend with four days of family fun. The holiday weekend will include two nights of fireworks, rocking country concerts and a night-time water park party.

The celebration kicks off today with a night-time party at Splash Island, which will stay open until 10 p.m. The day’s events feature a DJ, dance contests, games and all the thrills of Splash Island Water Park under the stars.

The fun continues on Saturday when the park opens at 10 a.m. The day will feature, in addition to the rides, shows, animals and water park, a watermelon-eating contest and All-American fun and games, including sack races.

Grammy-nominated artists Emerson Drive and Waterloo Revival will appear for a double-header concert Saturday night in the All-Star Amphitheater. Emerson Drive’s first two singles, “I Should Be Sleeping” and “Fall Into me,” peaked in Billboard’s Top 5 and quickly became fan favorites. However, it was the career-changing song “Moments” that gave the band its first No. 1 single.

Waterloo Revival’s first two singles, “Hit the Road” and “Bad For You,” introduced the duo’s music to country radio with an overwhelmingly positive response. Reserve seating is available starting at 7 p.m., and the concert starts at 8.

As the sun sets and the stars come out Sunday and Monday, one of the grandest fireworks displays in South Georgia will light up the sky, complete with a musical celebration of the freedoms we as Americans enjoy. Guests are invited to set up chairs prior to dusk or to rent park chairs (on a first-come, first-served basis) as they settle in to enjoy the show.

Wild Adventures will honor members of the military during the holiday weekend by offering them free admission for all four days. All active or retired military, disabled veterans and reservists are invited to visit the park Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and receive free admission with their military ID. Friends of military members receive $10 off one-day admission or $5 off two-day admission at the park.

Admission to Splash Island Nights, concerts, fireworks and all other holiday activities are included with a Season Pass or park admission. For advanced-purchase ticket deals or season pass savings up to $10 off, visit WildAdventures.com or call the park at (229) 219-7080.
