Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful hosts free document-shredding event

ALBANY — Locals can bring their unwanted documents to the parking lot behind the Albany Civic Center at Front Street and Mercer Avenue to be destroyed as part of an effort to deter identity theft. The event is free and will take place from 9 a.m to 1 p.m on Saturday, regardless of weather conditions.

The document shredding event is sponsored by Mayor Dorothy Hubbard, Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful and River Mill Data Management.

Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful, helps clean up litter and promote recycling and green living in the community.
