ALBANY — A community meeting is planned for Saturday to help Albany residents obtain access to local community development programs.
According to a news release, federal funds may be available to help low- and moderate-income residents with home repairs and other types of community services. The town hall meeting, organized by Ward I Albany City Commissioner Jon Howard, will offer residents the opportunity to learn about these programs and help Albany officials gain feedback on current community needs.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Thornton Unit Boys and Girls Clubs, located at 210 Thornton Drive in Albany.
Howard said the purpose of the neighborhood event is to help citizens learn more about community development programs and services that are available to local residents.
Howard said that speakers at the meeting will include staff from the city of Albany’s Department of Community and Economic Development.
“I urge you to attend this meeting and to invite other concerned citizens,” Howard said.
