Miss America, Miss Georgia choose new Georgia license group
Group to include representation from across Georgia
From Staff Reports
COLUMBUS — The Miss America Organization and the new Miss Georgia licensee awarded Trina Pruitt and her group with the Georgia Organization State License. After reviewing submissions, the MAO board of directors voted unanimously on Saturday.
As part of the process, the new Georgia Organization will seat a new board of directors that will, as much as possible, include representation from all areas of the state.
“Miss America sets the standard for young women who want to take advantage of what scholarship and service can do for them throughout their lives,” Pruitt said. “We now get the opportunity to play a role in helping more young women exceed their expectations.”
Brenda Keith is an MAO board member who chaired the submission process. As such, Keith welcomed Pruitt on board.
“Trina and her proposed leadership is indicative of what can be done when people pull together for good,” Keith said. “We welcome her and her board and other supporters who are working for these young women by advancing the mission of Miss America.”
