ALBANY — A motorcyclist was killed in a predawn wreck Tuesday on Georgia Highway 300 at the intersection with Georgia Highway 32, Georgia State Patrol officials said.

SFC John Vanlandingham, commander of GSP Post 40, said Alan Wright was killed around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday when his motorcycle struck a pickup truck that crossed Wright’s path as the truck’s driver, Pat Williams, was attempting to turn left from Highway 32 onto Highway 300.

According to GSP reports, Williams was driving east on Highway 32 and had stopped at the caution light before attempting to turn onto 300 to go northward. Wright was traveling south on 300 and hit the rear of the pickup. Williams was uninjured in the collision.

Vanlandingham said it appeared that Williams failed to yield the right of way to Wright. Charges may be filed against Williams, pending the findings of the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team, which is investigating the incident, Vanlandingham said.
