ALBANY — Twenty-eight-year-old Octavius Bell Jr. has been charged with the April 27 burglaries of Wild Flour Cafe, Domino’s Pizza and Harvest Moon, all located on Dawson Road in Albany, according to the Albany Police Department.

Bell was arrested Wednesday and originally charged with the burglary of the Harvest Moon restaurant but has now been charged with the other two incidents as well, which occurred the same night, police reports say.

The APD narrative states that at some time after 1:40 a.m. on April 27, the drive-through window of Domino’s Pizza, located at 2405 Dawson Road, was broken out. An individual entered the building, rummaged through the office and stole a computer.

Officers located two plastic covers to an electronics device on the ground outside the window, according to reports, and were able to obtain fingerprints.

Around 4 a.m. that same morning, a window-unit air conditioner was removed at Harvest Moon, located at 2347 Dawson Road, and an individual entered the building, owner Bo Henry reported. The suspect attempted to break into a locked office using a spoon, but fled when an alarm was activated.

According to police, Octavius Bell Jr. was later identified from several security cameras that recorded the incident.

A short time later, the rear door of Wild Flour Cafe, located at 2206 Dawson Road Suite A, was pried open, according to APD reports. A suspect entered the building, broke into the cash register, tore down a security monitor and took money from a safe. The incident was recorded on the restaurant’s surveillance system.

Police canvassed the area and later arrested Bell.

“This was good police work, along with using the description from surveillance videos to arrest him,” said Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks.

According to Kimberly Persley at the Dougherty County Probation Department, Bell was already on active probation for burglary. He now faces three new felony charges along with probation violation.
