Jimmy Carter to teach Sunday School in Plains

CARTER SCHEDULE

Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday school on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church, 148 Georgia Highway 45 N., Plains. The lesson begins at 10 a.m., but the sanctuary opens at 8:30 a.m. An orientation for visitors is planned at 9 a.m.

EVENTS

Raleigh White Baptist Church will celebrate its 73rd homecoming Sunday featuring guest speaker Buddy Wasson with music by Justin Paul. Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. with the morning worship service set for 10:15 a.m. A covered dish dinner will follow in the fellowship hall. The church is located at 2804 Phillips Drive.

First Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Women’s Day Sunday. Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. followed by the morning worship at 10 a.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. Patrina Lockette, daughter of Judge Willie and Helen Lockette. Those attending are asked to wear white, if possible. The church is located at 7108 Newton Road.

Baconton United Methodist Church will host a gospel sing at 7 tonight featuring Frank Story and family along with Kurt Baker. A love offering will be taken and refreshments will be served. The program is open to the public.
