ALBANY — The Georgia Department of Transportation announced that began Monday in which Ozark Striping Company is refreshing the striping and replacing raised pavement markers in Terrell County.
Refreshed striping and new markers will be brighter and easier to see, especially at night and during inclement weather, according to GDOT officials. They say the improved visibility can help drivers stay on the roadway and in the proper lane.
Motorists are asked to use caution, reduce speed and remain alert to changing traffic patterns during this slow-moving operation that requires rolling lane closures. Drivers should not pass the work truck, tailgate, change lanes behind the truck or swerve back and forth to see around striping vehicles, GDOT officials say.
Work is scheduled for 8 a.m.-6 p.m. through Friday on State Route 32 from SR 520/Roundtree Drive to the Lee County line; SR 118 from East Lee Street/SR 32 to the Lee county line; SR 55 from East Lee Street/SR 32 to the Lee County line; SR 49 from Plains Highway to the Sumter County line; SR 45 from the Calhoun County line to SR 520/Roundtree Drive, and SR 45 from SR 520 to the Webster County line.
