ALBANY — Ronald McDonald House Charities has announced its fourth annual sporting clays tournament set for Friday at The Flint Skeet and Trap Club in Albany.
The event is an opportunity for sporting clay enthusiasts to compete for a worthwhile cause.
Officials said Keystone Foods is the presenting sponsor, with support from the Kids and Clays Foundation. Ronald McDonald House Charities and Kids and Clays Foundation are the official charities of the National Sporting Clays Association, the National Skeet Shooting Association, the Amateur Trapshooting Association and the Scholastic Clay Target Program.
“Dougherty County is consistently one of the top ten service counties for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia. Over the last 16 years, we have cared for over 230 families for over 1,400 nights from Dougherty County — and many more from the surrounding south Georgia area,” RMHC President and CEO Bonnie Hopkins said in a statement. “We cannot thank Keystone Foods enough for their generous presenting sponsorship and appreciate as well the support from Parrish Construction Group, WALB, F&W Forestry, and the Kids & Clays Foundation.’
Individual registration for the tournament is $200 per day. Teams of four may enter for $800 and youth shooters may enter for $150. Officials said the event features prizes, prize drawings and giveaways.
All proceeds from the event stay at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia to serve the families of central and south Georgia. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill, critically injured or medically fragile children receiving treatment at area medical facilities.
The house offers comfort and care for these families in a nurturing and supportive environment. Since opening in November 2002, the House has provided a refuge for more than 5,500 families from 125 Georgia counties, 28 states and seven countries.
