Search warrant leads to 14 arrests on Whitney Avenue

ALBANY — Fourteen arrests have been made after a search warrant was executed at 821 Whitney Avenue, according to the Albany Police Department.

The original disturbance call, which led to the issuance of a search warrant, came in Tuesday night around 10:47 p.m., reports indicate.

“Dispatch received calls for shots fired in the area of 821 W. Whitney Ave.,” APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said. “Officers responded, and while in the area they heard additional shots. Officers heard what sounded like rounds or ricocheting rounds passing their vehicle. Information from the caller helped officers identify the residence. Two suspects were found in the yard, and a protective sweep of the residence resulted in officers making contact with several more people from inside the residence.They were taken into custody.”

According to reports, a total of five five weapons were seized during the raid including three assault rifles, one semi-auto shotgun and one .45 caliber handgun.

Reports indicate that 14 arrests were made, two of which were juveniles, and charges include aggravated assault, possession of marijuana, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, possession of firearms during a commission of a felony and theft by receiving stolen property (firearms).

Those arrested include:

— A 16-year-old male juvenile, who was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— A 15-year-old female juvenile, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Jonathan Jerrod Fisher, 34, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Rashad Antwon Peterson, 30, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, two counts of theft by receiving stolen weapons and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;

— Corey Jamal Payton, 25, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Quantavious Daniels, 24, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Christopher Blocker, 21, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Ryheem Leverett, 20, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Curtis Thomas, 20, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Andre Worthy, 20, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Terrence Jamal Hill, 20, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Takeem Brown, 20, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Dadreon Dave, 17, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;

— Dominique Henderson, 28, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
