Shots fired into West Highland residence

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at an Albany residence early Thursday morning.
According to reports, at approximately 3:30 a.m. a gray Nissan Altima pulled up outside the residence at 1304 West Highland Avenue and an unknown subject stepped out of the car and began firing a handgun.
Tijuana Hightower, who was present at the scene when officers arrived, stated that she was in her bedroom when she heard shots and her window began to shatter.
Officers report that nine bullet holes were located in the rear of the residence, along with several bullet holes in the bedroom walls and shell casings in the back yard.
Witnesses reported seeing a burgundy Chevy Impala trailing the shooter’s Nissan, before both cars sped away through the alley headed east.
