ALBANY — A town hall meeting dedicated to SPLOST VII that will allow citizens a sneak peak at the proposed projects for Albany and Dougherty County, is set for Saturday.

City and county officials said the meeting will take place at the East Albany Community Center, located at 1721 E. Oglethorpe Blvd., beginning at 10 a.m. In addition to getting a preview on the proposed projects, citizens will also be given to opportunity to ask questions or make comments regarding how these projects will enhance the community.

The speakers will be Assistant City Manager Phil Roberson, Assistant County Administrator Michael McCoy, City Attorney Nathan Davis and County Attorney Spencer Lee. The event is being hosted by Ward I City Commissioner Jon Howard and District 3 County Commissioner Clinton Johnson.

City and county voters will determine whether to enact the 1 percent SPLOST VII tax for the next six years during the Nov. 8 general election.
