ALBANY – Grapes, apples, fish and milk, as well as cereal, rice and shrimp are among the contents of the boxes for an Albany church’s Saturday food giveaway.

The congregation at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church will be handing out food starting at 10 a.m. at the 2605 Sylvester Road sanctuary. The first 200 in line will be awarded with a box of food in the latest of the regular giveaways.

“We give out 200 boxes every time,” church member Princess Milledge said. “We have managed to purchase the food ourselves. It comes out of people’s tithes.

“This is part of our church mission that we will help the community. It’s part of the church’s mission to help the community.”

The church has been holding the events since December of 2023.
