ALBANY — School may have started back, but officials at Wild Adventures Theme Park say there is plenty of summer entertainment left in their concert series.

Beginning this Saturday and throughout the month of August, the theme park will rock with three more All-Star concerts, including an extra show just announced for Aug. 27.

Back for the sixth consecutive year, Skillet, a high-energy, crossover rock band with No. 1 hits like “Not Gonna Die” and “Awake & Alive,” will return to the Wild Adventures stage Saturday. The band’s new album is scheduled to be released the day before.

“We can’t wait to rock with our fans at Wild Adventures in Valdosta and hear everyone singing along to the new songs,” said Skillet frontman John Cooper.

On Aug. 13, “hick-hop” pioneer and Athens native Colt Ford will showcase his innovative brand of country music at the park. Ford was one of the first artists to take the classic country sound and mix it with hip-hop beats, creating an entirely new genre which has taken the country music world by storm. Ford’s hits include “Chicken and Biscuits” and “Thanks for Listening.”

And classic Rock fans will be excited to come out for the extra concert added to end this season’s All-Star series. The World Class Rockers, consisting of original members from Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana and Steppenwolf, will take the stage for a special passholder appreciation show on Aug. 27.

This super-group will deliver a show of some of the biggest classic rock hits of all-time.

To show its appreciation to season passholders, the park will hold its reserved seats for the show exclusively for them at no charge. Seats will be available the day of the show on a first-come, first-served basis. Extended viewing is open for all guests to enjoy the concert.

“I always look forward to performing with my fellow World Classic Rockers at Wild Adventures,” said former Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Randall Hall. “The audiences there are great Southern Rock fans, so the energy I get from them while performing “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Bird” and others is such a rush. I can’t wait to come back.”

Doors open for each show at 7 p.m., with concerts starting at 8 p.m. General admission to all concerts is included with park admission or a 2016 season pass.
