Dougherty County election officialsreported a malfunctrion in a ballot scanner and corrective actions taken to compy with state law. At several other precincts voters were moving through the process quickly as there were no lines at mid-morning.

“I’m gonna be honest with y’all, we are down in early votes,” Gov. Brian Kemp told supporters at the Albany Jet Center at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport, one stop on GOP nominee Rick Jackson’s statewide get-out-the-vote tour. “But I’ll tell you this: We were down in early votes in 2018, and like Tim said, rural Georgia turned out on Election Day and sent us to the governor’s mansion and to the Gold Dome.”

The Phoebe Foundation is gearing up for the 37th annual Jingle Bell Jog on Dec. 5, and officials are looking for a few good men — women, and children! — to serve as run volunteers.
