I was at today’s Albany City Commission meeting. It was a pleasure to see such eloquently-speaking young black men get up and address our commissioners. Maybe there is hope for our future.
Parker’s story about Bezos and the Pecker, had me polarized and promptly put me into a perplexing quandary. It just goes to show you what trouble you can get into if you mess with a Pecker.
“Ineptocracy” describes America’s Socialist Democratic Party. A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing and succeeding who are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated (taxed) wealth of producers.
So what the Dougherty County Commission is saying is that we don’t want to have people mad at us like they are the city, so we’ll change the laws to make sure when somebody doesn’t like something we did they won’t say bad things about us. Y’all are just cowards.
No one in Albany understands clinical depression, including those in the health care field. There is no empathy, just quick-fix attempts.
Isn’t it about time for pitchers and catchers to report to spring training?
ABAC certainly has a huge impact on Tifton and the area around it. Sad to say Albany State doesn’t have a similar impact on Albany and the rest of southwest Georgia. This community has got to do a better job of embracing ASU. The students want to be part of a community that welcomes them, not that shuns them.
We citizens who elected Trump as president owe a big thanks to the White House staffer who confirmed that Trump spends 60 percent of the days in playtime. Trump was elected to work and lead our country, not to spend more than half of each day watching TV or playing golf. He is no leader, but simply a narcissist making money in his swamp/cesspool while Americans are facing increased, not decreased, income taxes. The American public was scammed.
I was going to punish my 12-year-old for something he said the other day, but when he said, “But mom, I’m just repeating what the president said,” I had to think twice. The presidency is no longer a position to be respected.
To the Squawker who is always making negative comments about Albany State University: Are you sure your vitriol is not determined by the color of the skin of most students at our college? Look in your heart before you make such comments.
Dang, the coroner is everywhere in that marked car. Might as well say zombie apocalypse.
If you didn’t believe in Donald Trump before his State of the Union speech, you have to agree now that he is the best thing this country has seen in years and years. Long live The Donald!

I’m pleased that an established artist like Clennon King remains loyal to his hometown. I for one will be there for at least one — maybe both — of the showings of his documentary. It sounds fascinating.
If Liberal states California and New York are sinking into the ocean, God must really be unhappy with them. Think about it.
