Three-day art show begins at Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus
Calvary Cornucopia Creations features works from southwest Georgia artists

AMERICUS – Calvary Episcopal Church is starting its annual three-day art show, Calvary Cornucopia Creations, this evening featuring activities for all ages.
Officials said the exhibit includes art from the community, with part of the proceeds from art sales going to Liberty House, a domestic violence shelter in Albany.
Leila Case, a member of Calvary Episcopal’s art committee, said the show will have works such as paintings, sculptures, pottery, hand-blown glass pieces and other forms of artwork. For younger artists, there will be a youth art exhibit and the Chalk Walk.
“The Chalk Walk is for high school (students) and students from Georgia Southwestern (State University),” Case said. “They are going to do chalk art on the sidewalk by the church. The theme is animal kingdom creations.”
The Calvary Cornucopia Creations show will run from 6-8 p.m. tonight, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. There is a luncheon Saturday that begins at noon. Tickets for the luncheon are $15.
“We’ve had big crowds before, and we’ve had people from Albany come and enjoy and this is an outreach program and something that has been enjoyed by Americus citizens and beyond,” Case said.
The art show will take place in Calvary Episcopal’s parish hall, located at 408 South Lee St. in Americus.
