Tift Regional plans ‘Havana Nights’ gala for mobile clinic
Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation fundraiser gala set for Saturday
From Staff Reports
TIFTON — The Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation will hold its annual black-tie-optional gala Saturday with the proceeds planned for the purchase of a mobile clinic.
The gala is set from 7 p.m.-midnight at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center. Officials said the theme of this year’s event is “Havana Nights.” The planned purchase of the mobile clinic will help provide medical care to underserved areas in the region.
“Mobile clinics are customized vehicles that travel to the heart of communities, providing prevention and health care services to vulnerable populations,” Mandy Brooks, executive director of the TRMC Foundation, said. “They overcome barriers of time, money and trust.”
Brooks said the focus of the mobile clinic will be preventive care for those experiencing those barriers.
“Services offered by the mobile clinic will include wellness checks, sick visits, immunizations, screenings, referrals to specialty care, chronic disease management, access to community resources and more,” she said. “Mobile clinics have been shown to overcome barriers to access and build trusting relationships to reduce disparities, improve health and reduce costs.”
Brooks said tickets for the gala are $125 per person. The event includes a seated dinner, live music, dancing, a silent auction and a diamond giveaway.
“With a Cuban theme this year, the gala will be a fun evening for a great cause,” she said. “We really appreciate the community’s support.”
