Tractor-trailer turns over on Clark Avenue Extension bridge in east Dougherty County
No immediate word on injuries was available

ALBANY — Eastbound motorists on the Clark Avenue extension were being detoured via Hill Road early this morning after a tractor-trailer carrying nearly 29 tons of beer overturned on the Clark bridge at Sylvester Road.
Nita Birmingham with the Southwest District Georgia Department of Transportation office in Tifton, said one injury was reported in the wreck that involved the truck, which was carrying a load of 57,280 pounds of beer, and two autos.
The Albany Fire Department reported that it received a call about the wreck at 5:35 a.m. The AFD report said that a caller notifying authorities about the accident said the truck driver had injuries to his head, arms and elbows. Firefighters said the driver was inside the semi truck when they arrived.
Birmingham said DOT was notified around 6:45 a.m. Cleanup crews were still working to unload the cargo, which had no spillage, and move the rig shortly before 9 a.m. today.
Dougherty County police said this morning that they dido not have a report available yet on the incident.
