ALBANY — Worth County Fire and Rescue and emergency services were dispatched Wednesday to Highway 33 North and Doe Hill Road in regard to a vehicle accident involving a small car and a garbage truck.

The call came in around 11:51 a.m., and reports indicate that, upon arrival, WCFR removed two occupants and a small dog from the severely damaged car.

Grady EMS took one patient to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries, while the other patient was air-lifted to Macon, officials said. Best Friends Humane Society was called to handle treatment for the pet in the vehicle.

None of the occupants in the garbage truck was injured.

The scene was released to Georgia State Patrol at 12:44 p.m. No information on the condition of the occupants of the vehicle or cause of the accident was available by The Herald’s press time.
