ALBANY — A 32-year-old Leesburg woman was killed in a Monday-morning single-car accident that also resulted in a 9-year-old boy being airlifted with apparent severe injuries.

Lee County Deputy Coroner Bobby Watkins identified the victim as Margaret Denham Yerby.

The accident occurred at about 9 a.m. on Old Leesburg Road, Watkins said. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident. It appears the driver of the car, in which there also was a 4-month-old child who has been released from a local hospital, left the roadway and lost control.

The 9-year-old boy was taken to Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, Watkins said.
