ALBANY — Observance of the 75th National Day of Prayer in Albany has been rescheduled for May 28, Larry Price, the chair of ALDON, the Albany-Dougherty National Prayer Committee, has announced.

The observance, originally scheduled May 7, was rescheduled due to inclement weather.

“It will be the same program with the same speakers,” Price said. “We were under a tornado watch and there was lightning and thunderstorms in the area (on May 7), so it was necessary to cancel the event and reschedule. It’ll be held on the 28th, same time, same place.”

The National Day of Prayer will be held in the courtyard of the Albany-Dougherty Government Center at 222 Pine Ave. in downtown Albany at noon on the 28th. The theme of the event is “Glorify God Among the Nations: Seeking Him Through All Generations,” from 1 Chronicles 16:24.

Speakers at the event include the Rev. Harriett Gainer, Dr. Price Corr and Dougherty County Sheriff Terron Hayes.
